Here in New Zealand, there is very much a “let it be” attitude,” which tends to be accompanied by a firm belief that all will turn out for the best. This philosophy, as it were, is best encapsulated in the Kiwi expression “She’ll be right.”
“This has been the week from hell. First I lost my job, then the girlfriend left me.”
“No worries, mate. She’ll be right.”
I’m pretty sure the sincerity of this statement is circumstantial, but I rather like the Zen of it. It’s a nice little reminder to take a step back and a deep breath and trust that things will work out for the best. Perspective – I dig it; New Zealand gets it.
